Hudson River overnight rafting

Go deeper into the Adirondacks.

Trade the road for the river. Spend your days rafting through wild Adirondack scenery and your nights camping beside the Hudson.

North Creek rafts beside a riverside campsite in the forested Hudson River Gorge

Two, three or four days. Your crew, your route.

River camps, not roadside campsites.

Many of the DEC campsites along the Hudson are reached only from the river. Arrive by raft, set up beside the water and let the evening slow down. Some sites have access to remote ponds or scenic overlooks; fishing and hiking opportunities depend on the chosen route and conditions.

Guides take care of cooking and camp chores. Menus are planned for your group and can be discussed in advance. Open-fire cooking and Dutch oven desserts are part of the overnight tradition; campsite and fire conditions matter.

The route comes first.

The main two-day trip is 17 miles from the Indian River toward North River. Three-day routes are published at 17 or 26 miles. Four-day options are listed at 17, 26 or 29 miles. A Lower Hudson 16-mile alternative appears in the two-day itinerary list.

River level determines whether a Newcomb start or a continuation below North River is possible. The guides work with your group’s needs rather than promising a rigid route that may not fit the water. Read the individual trip pages for the published alternatives and call to discuss the best fit.
